Easy Straightness Measurement of Large Workpieces.
Straightness measurement is the measurement of three-dimensional error relative to a geometrically correct straight line. Generally, straightness measurement of large precision parts such as T-dies, slit dies, and precision machine parts is performed by comparison with a master gauge or an autocollimator. However, for parts longer than 2 m, it is difficult to compare measurement with a straightness gauge, and measurement using angles is time-consuming and labor-intensive. This is why NAGASE has developed a revolutionary on-machine straightness measurement unit that enables high-precision measurement.
Features
The Machine Realizes On-Machine Straightness Measurement of Large Workpieces of Over 2000 mm.
≪Features of Straightness Measurement Unit≫
- When attached to NAGASE ultra-precision grinding machines, the straightness of a large workpiece in the vertical plane can be measured without using a standard straightness gauge (master gauge).
- The workpiece measurement method can be selected, and in the case of non-contact, repeated measurement is possible without damaging the surface roughness of T-dies (slit dies, coated dies, etc.).
- Measuring accuracy is 0.33μm/1m. 2m or larger workpieces can be measured for straightness with high repeatability and reproducibility.
- Since measurements can be performed on-machine, precise evaluation is possible without removing the workpiece, and correction processing can be performed on the spot.
- It is also possible to measure only the waviness component.
- By using a short gauge, simple measurements can be made on a horizontal surface.
- NAGASE can propose measurement methods (non-contact or contact), measurement pitches, and unit specifications (such as off-machine measurement systems capable of surface plates and scanning) to meet customer needs.
Straightness can be easily measured on the machine by simply attaching the measuring head to the grinding wheel cover.Evaluation and measurement can be performed on the spot without removing the workpiece after machining.
Achieves measurement with an error of 0.33μm/1m (at a measurement pitch of 75mm) and 0.77μm/3m (at a measurement pitch of 150mm) in absolute shape evaluation. Also, measurement of only the "waviness component" is possible.
NAGASE can also propose an off-machine measuring system with a surface plate attached and scanning for measurement.
