Shape Form Grinding of a Few Microns on Metric Size Machine Tool Parts.
Crown grinding is the process of machining the surface of a workpiece into a convex or concave shape. The creation of convex and concave shapes of a few micrometers/m is required for guideway surfaces of machine tools and other equipment. NAGASE's double column surface grinding machine realize crowning of large workpieces with such precision that they could be mistaken for small- or medium-sized grinding machine. This is made possible by a high degree of accuracy in following vertical axis NC commands in 0.1μm increments, and by a high-dimensional fusion of well-established large ultra-precision element technologies, such as hydrostatic gConvex and concave shapes/Synchronous controluideways and linear motor drives.
