In addition to ultra-high-speed table reversal, the SHS-20 is a revolutionary forming grinder that has revolutionized "carbide machining" by supporting "BAKUSOKU" speed specifications.

Dramatically Improves the Machining Efficiency of Carbide Parts

The standard chuck area of 150 mm x 100 mm is equipped with a high-speed, high-precision spindle with a grinding wheel size of ⌀100 to 150 and a maximum rotational speed of 10,000 min-1.
Ultra-precision high-reciprocation grinding machine compatible with NAGASE's "BAKUSAKU (op). It can make conventional high-reciprocation grinding even more highly efficient.

Ultra High-Speed Inversion of 600 inversions/min. Compatible with High-Reciprocation Molding Process

Ultra high-speed table inversion of 600 inversions/min (*at 20 mm stroke setting) is possible.
Fine infeed and ultra-high-speed table reversal minimizes heat generation and wheel wear, enabling high-precision molding grinding and grooving.

Maintains High Longitudinal Straightness Accuracy Over the Long Term

NAGASE's unique multi-faceted non-contact guide is used on the left-right axis of the table. Even during high-speed table inversion, the table height does not fluctuate,
reducing vibration and achieving excellent shape accuracy and machining quality. Furthermore, deterioration of machine accuracy is minimal even during long-term operation.

Based on the proven SHS-15, the SHS-20 has been thoroughly improved and designed for highly efficient machining down to the last detail.

Advanced Table Design Reduces Grinding Wheel Wear and Increases Work Efficiency

The table can be equipped with a magnetic chuck or a high-precision system jig chuck (op).
A specially developed pallet vice (op) facilitates workpiece setting, measurement, and re-installation outside the machine.
A separate dressing mechanism (op) has been designed to minimize vibration and reversal shock, which cause grinding wheel wear.
A compact orthogonal rotary dresser (op) and cup tool luer (op) are also available for R-axis grinding wheel forming and dressing of high-grit grinding wheel.
Stainless steel covers are used around the table to prevent corrosion caused by cobalt, etc., contained in carbide materials.

To Further Improve Machining Efficiency and Reduce Grinding Wheel Wear

The grinding wheel spindle uses a high-speed, high-precision spindle manufactured in-house. The grinding wheel head can be manually tilted up to ±5°.
A new type of Balancevector (op) that constantly monitors the dynamic balance of not only the grinding wheel but also the entire rotating system can also be mounted.
It measures the unbalance state of the grinding wheel during BAKUSAKU grinding (op) or high-reciprocation forming, ensuring stable machining results at all times.
A simple FFT analysis function can also be used to investigate the cause of vibration that is adversely affecting the machined surface.

Machine Front Space Can Be Effectively Utilized

The column-type structure, in which the saddle does not move back and forth as in conventional machines, is adopted, the space in front of the machine can be effectively utilized.
The machine body is designed with almost the same width within the series, facilitating easy placement in a production line.

The Latest Operating Software, Zero3, Is Installed as Standard

The latest interactive software "Zero3" for speedy and easy routine machining comes standard.
Detailed machining conditions can be set for each process. Up to 5 settings can be stored for both flat and groove machining.
Traverse jump grinding and various groove grinding functions are also standard.

Support for Multi-Jointed Robots

Designed to accommodate workpiece supply and exchange to machines using articulated robots, etc. (consultation required).
In conjunction with SHS-80α and SGC-215, we can also construct high-precision and high-efficiency machining lines (consultation required).
