Precision surface grinding (hexahedron fabrication) is required from the blank state for Machining carbide mold parts.
This innovative machine was developed to perform this process more precisely and more efficiently than any other.

Machine Design That Achieves Overwhelming Machining Efficiency.

High-reciprocating surface grinder capable of machining with a grinding wheel of ⌀180-255 (twice the size of conventional small machines) for a machining area of 180 x 130 mm.
From its basic configuration, this machine was developed to pursue overwhelming efficiency and accuracy.

Sub-Micron Straightness and Minimal Reversal Vibration Even at a High-Speed Feed Rate of 40 m/min.

Right/left table reversal is possible at 40m/min speed.High accuracy and efficiency can be pursued.
In addition, the left/right axes of the table are prevented from floating even during high speed feed, and a non-contact multi-surface constrained oil hydrostatic guideway is used, which has excellent vibration damping properties.

New Design for Unprecedented Machining Accuracy.

The SGC-215 employs a newly designed T-shaped integrated bed.It enables machining with stable accuracy and quality without overhang.
A wider and thicker column is used for higher machine rigidity compared to conventional general-purpose grinders.
Extremely high command value tracking and repeatability for a command value of 0.1μm.High-precision machining can be pursued to the utmost.

Hydrostatic Spindles Developed In-House and Manufactured Consistently

The grinding wheel spindle is equipped with an ultra-precision hydrostatic spindle and an ultra-low vibration motor, both of which are manufactured in-house by NAGASE.
The machine boasts high rigidity and rotational accuracy, and can handle everything from highly efficient pre-machining to finishing with a high-grit grinding wheel.

Dynamic Balance Measurement and Correction Device to Improve Accuracy, Efficiency, and Service Life

A new type of balance doctor (op) that enables precise measurement and automatic correction of the dynamic balance of not only the grinding wheel but also the entire rotating system can be mounted.
This machine can improve not only machining accuracy and efficiency, but also the life of the grinding wheel.

Machine Front Space Can Be Effectively Utilized

Adopts a column-type structure that allows the machine layout to be fixed. Since the saddle does not move back and forth, the space in front of the machine can be effectively utilized.
The machine body is designed with almost the same width within the series, facilitating easy placement in a production line.

The Latest Operating Software, Zero3, Is Installed as Standard

The latest interactive software "Zero3" for speedy and easy routine machining comes standard.
Detailed machining conditions can be set for each process.Up to 5 setting conditions can be stored for both flat and groove machining.
Traverse jump grinding and various groove grinding functions are also standard.

Support for System Jigs and Multi-Jointed Robots

Upon request, the magnetic chuck can be changed to a system jig (consultation required).
The design can also be adapted to supply and exchange workpieces to machines using articulated robots, etc. (consultation required).
