Serration punch machining is the grinding of workpieces with multiple grooves on the axis used in cold forging and plate forging processes. Target materials include high-speed tool steel and carbide materials. NAGASE's gear grinding machine can produce mirror-finished gear-shaped parts, which were previously finished by hand lapping, by grinding alone. The indexing accuracy is such that it can be used for spline gauge grinding and master gear grinding. We have also developed a high-precision indexing unit that can perform these serration operations on a surface grinder.
